GROUP TURNS AWAY STUDENTS ASKING FOR HELP!
Morris Dees Cackles Over Demise Of SLRC
Now that I have your attention. No, we have not closed our doors. Kirk Lyons and Dr. Payne are still slaving away at the SLRC offices cranking out work on four federal lawsuits and one appeal for thte minimal salaries we pay them.
But any of a dozen crisis scenarios could make the above headlines true in a heartbeat. The SLRC skates on the thinnest of thin ice. The debt dam could burst in a 100 places and put us out of office tomorrow.
And look who we are fighting:
The FAA - US government. How much will they spend of your tax dollars to stop the SLRC from vindicating the rights of two SCV men, air traffic controllers, at Jacksonville, Florida, whose only crime was that they thought they lived in a free country when they wore Confederate shirts to work?
Bechtel Savannah River - Bechtel is an internationally renowned engineering corporation worth 100's of millions. How much do you think they will spend to keep SCV member Richard Smith from overturning his one year probation for wearing an SCV ball cap and displaying "racist food products?"
Brinks International Security - Another multi million dollar corporation that spits on our heritage. They fire a 72 year old man for having a Confederate flag on his lunchbox and a Heritage Not Hate sticker on his truck. We sued; they won the first round. Armed with 16 affidavits we ammended our lawsuit. The judge completely ignored the affidavits and ruled against us again. Now we appeal to the very free speech friendly 3rd Circuit. How much will Brinks spend to stop us? Care to guess? They will out spend us 10-20 to 1 and we still have unpaid bills from the underlying case.
Lawrence County Schools - The principal is still deployed overseas, but we must be ready to move the case forward when he returns. How much tax money will Lawrence County Schools spend to prevent students from wearing Confederate shirts to school?
DuPont - One of the richest corporations in the world. How much do you think they will spend to keep Confederate symbols out of their Richmond plant? Seven men are counting on us to vindicate their rights and your rights.
These foes of Confederate heritage are wealthy enough to but the best justice available. They can arm their attorneys with space age laser rifles, while we can only give Kirk Lyons and the SLRC a pea shooter to fight back with.
The foes of the Constitution trash the First Ammendment every day. Day after day stripping us and our posterity of inalienable rights.
The SLRC has taken the lead in fighting for federally recognized legal protection for Confederate Southern Americans. More and more heritage leaders see how imperative it is that we nail down legal protection of our rights now, before it is too late. The SLRC cannot do it alone. There is no justice in a vacuum for us. All our cases are political and all the rules change when a Confederate flag is involved. We will lose more than we win, but we will put their hypocrisy on the record, and under oath! We must keep knocking at the door, knock and knock until someone opens and gives us our day in court. Someday they will - maybe on one of the four cases above. But it wont happen if YOU DO NOT HELP THE SLRC NOW!!
